Use our Splash of Pink theme for inspiration
for a fundraising event and help us to raise money for
Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October!
Here
are a few ideas:
Splash of Pink party (wear a splash
of pink, hang pink decorations, play songs by Pink…..you
get the idea!)
Splash of Pink day (ask your friends
or work colleagues to wear a splash of pink)
Splash of Pink tea party (serve pink
iced cakes with tea in pink mugs)
Lookin' Good pamper events
Against
Breast Cancer is proud to launch its Lookin'
Good campaign. Women like to be pampered, treated
to makeovers, and try new hair styles and products in
the knowledge they are doing something positive for
themselves. To expand on the idea of looking good and
feeling good, you can help us raise funds by holding
a Lookin' Good event and make a contribution
to our breast cancer research.
Here's how the Lookin' Good campaign
works: Request a Lookin' Good fundraising
pack, including goodie bags (while stocks last) and
invite friends over for a girly night in! Ask for donations
to take part in the event, sell products on the night
and hold a raffle. Try new products, enjoy a glass of
something whilst experimenting with new hairstyles,
nail polish, colours, swap clothes and accessories...whatever
you fancy that makes you feel good!

Other fundraising ideas
Community Spirit
The great thing about community fundraising is that it's really
easy to do and you're guaranteed to have fun while you raise money.
But remember, think big! However small the event or activity you're
running, you'll want to make sure that your idea is going to bring
in as much money as possible and make all your hard work worthwhile.
The best fundraising ideas are ones that are easy to run and easy
for people to participate in, so tailor your event to the people
it's aimed at. For example, if you're fundraising at work, make
it short, simple to enter and fun, whereas a sponsored event needs
more time to allow people to plan their involvement and seek sponsorship.
Getting
your local community involved is the biggest task for a fundraiser,
but the rewards can be well worth the effort. Craft fairs, garage
sales, sponsored events and fashion shows can be great fun and can
run as annual events once you've got them off the ground. Try choosing
a seasonal theme for your event, such as an Easter egg hunt or a
Christmas coffee morning and make sure you get as much local publicity
as possible.
Why not try:
- a quiz supper
- a carol concert
- a fancy dress party
- a barn dance
Workers' Playtime
Take advantage of your captive audience at work! There are lots
of activities you can slip into the working day which will add a
little light relief and benefit Against Breast Cancer too. Lunch
hours are a great time to grab people. A sweepstake is one idea
and a great way of getting a couple of pounds from everyone without
taking up too much valuable work time. There's always something
in the news to bet, on for example...
- Christmas No. 1
- Sporting events etc.
Why not try:
- a lunchtime cake stall
- selling home-made goodies to
colleagues
- an office party raffle
- dress down day
- pretty in pink day
- worst tie day
Outdoor Pursuits
Combining
some healthy exercise with fundraising is a great way to get in
shape and help Against Breast Cancer at the same time. You can involve
friends, family, work colleagues, fellow members of your local sports
club or simply do something on your own. Select something you will
enjoy, and is within your ability, to make it fun.
Why not try:
- a football match
- a cycle ride
- an office party raffle
or join in these organised events and raise money for
Against Breast Cancer:
- Charity Challenge (see Charity
Challenge page - fundraising)
- Flora London Marathon
- 10k Open Road Race
- Bupa Great North Run
- Flora Light 5K Run
School Challenge
Why not consider taking up the Against Breast Cancer
Schools Challenge. We challenge every school in
the UK to raise at least £300 for Against Breast
Cancer and help us to reach a GRAND total of £150,000.
